About The Cr3ative Space
I believe that creativity plays a vital part in maintaining personal wellbeing. All forms of creative expression help to connect us to our heart’s deeper wisdom, our intuition and our subconscious. Art awakens our senses, helps us be more mindful, keeps us grounded, and nourishes our soul.
I’m Vicki Lama and I am a certified Art Therapist and ex-school teacher. I started The Cr3ative Space in response to personally experiencing and seeing friends, colleagues and students suffer the effects of stress, anxiety and low self-esteem.
With a background in psychology and qualifications in education, Art Therapy and Counselling, I felt that my knowledge and experience could be better utilised by stepping away from classroom teaching and pursuing my passion to help people.
I run individual and group workshops for adults and children to help them clarify their vision, set goals, find a voice to safely express their emotions, build self-esteem and develop strategies to manage stress and anxiety, so that they can live their best life. This is achieved through a combination of art therapy, creativity and mindfulness techniques.
The Cr3ative Space - Gold Coast is a place that encourages healing and creativity by providing art workshops, art therapy and counselling services for both adults and children.

What Is Art Therapy?
Art therapy is different from traditional "talk therapy" (counselling) as it uses the process of art making to improve a person’s physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
You don't need to be artistic or have any artistic ability to benefit from art therapy. The goal is not to produce a masterpiece, but to reflect on the process and insights gained from creating.
The Cr3ative Space offers individual and group art therapy, specialising in anxiety and stress management.
Who Is Art Therapy For?
ANYONE can do Art Therapy!
Art therapists work with people of all ages: individuals, couples, families, groups and communities.
The beauty of art as therapy is the ability for a person to express his/her feelings through any form of art. Art therapists utilise more traditional forms…such as painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, or a variety of other types of visual art expression.
You don’t need to be artistic or have any artistic ability to benefit from art therapy. The goal is not to create a masterpiece, but to reflect on the process and insights gained from creating.

Children's Art
The Cr3ative Space runs after school and holiday art workshops for children, that focus on creative expression, skill development, self - esteem, communication and having fun.
Adult Art
The Cr3ative Space offers adult art workshops throughout the year. These are designed to provide time for relaxation, self-care, connection, help foster creative expression and simple skill development. They allow an opportunity to share, to explore, to experiment, to take risks, to challenge ourselves and to make ourselves feel uplifted.
No artistic ability or prior knowledge is necessary for any workshop, as all instruction and support is given.
Mindfulness
Mindfulness is a way of training yourself to focus your attention to what is happening right now. It is about observing your thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations and environment, without judgment.
Practicing mindfulness can help you cope with everyday life and deal with tough times.
There’s a lot of evidence that mindfulness can help you to:
- clear your head and slow down your thoughts
- be more aware of yourself, your body and the environment
- slow down your nervous system and aid your sleep
- concentrate
- relax
- cope with stress, depression and anxiety.(ReachOut.com)
